Patriotism

Patriotism is how we show our love and our readiness to serve our country. If we are patriotic, we must be loyal to our country and not our ethnic group. Patriots must speak well of their country at all times. If patriots are outside their country, they must not say or do anything that will harm the country, even if they are not happy with the Government. If patriots are called to serve their country in any way, either in time of peace or war, they should be ready to serve. If there had been no patriotism on a country, the country would have not existed. A patriotic person must place the country above the state or ethnic group.
As citizens of a country, we should be loyal to our government. We should pay our taxes, defend our nation at all times, show respect for our leaders and all national symbols, be honest in all our dealings with fellow citizens and, above all, keep and defend the constitution or laws of the nation. Being a good citizen also means respect for national identity. That is, a patriotic citizen respects the symbols of a nation, those things by which a nation is known or identified. The main symbols of a nation are the national anthem, the national flag, the national pledge, the armed forces, the coat of arms, a single currency, common boundaries and cultural artefacts, as well as the language we speak and the way we dress, so that we can be easily identified.
Respect for national identity gives us a sense of unity. So that we can defend our country, if we call our country a calabash other countries will use it as waste bin. So it's always advisable for one to loves his country.

Pronoun are the first examples of words that refer to people and objects. Sometimes, it is easy to follow the reference at other times, it is more difficult. Look at the opening sentence of the passage you've just read that begins this way  "She was waiting for us:small, dowdy, dirty..."  Who was waiting? Who was the person waiting for? (Perhaps you would also like to know why she was waiting.)Answers to these questions will surely help you to understand and thus follow the reference. The first thing to do is to ask questions like the ones we have just asked and to read t...

Housing is certainly one of the basic necessities of man. However when rural dwellers migrated to the urban areas in very large numbers, housing has become a problem. But so far, all efforts made, including building of housing estates by the government, have not solved the problem of inadequate housing. How could this be solved? The government should make provision of amenities to be getting in cheap rates, various building materials such as cement, roofing sheets, asbestos, as well as finishing materials such as paints and tiles. The government should build and sell the house at a...

Why women have sex

Why do women have sex? And why do women have sex without commitment? It might be easy to assume that a woman’s sexuality is like a man’s, but if that were true, why would so many men still believe that there are good girls for marrying and fun girls for, well, fun? (That double standard is a myth, by the way.) Before you label her one thing or the other, consider her motives for hooking up with you. We all love a good throw down every now and again because, let’s be real, it’s a great time. But guys, here’s a little secret: Sex is more than just an evening (or afternoon or morning) of fun. In fact, according to science, getting busy on the regular can benefit your overall health in some pretty major ways.   Below are some reasons women have sex: Sex lowers your blood pressure One study shows that sexual intercourse specifically—as opposed to masturbation or other forms of sex play—has a significant impact on lowering systolic blood pressure (the first number on your blood pre...
